**NEW RELEASE**
Aptly named ‘Mother Block’ these wines come from our site at Chalmers Merbein Vineyard, the heart of all that we do. As well as it being the location of our family home and business, this unique and diverse vineyard is the adopted home to each variety that we’ve imported to Australia over the last 20 years. It is also the source block for supplying millions of vines planted across Australia through our vine nursery, hence the name.
Mother Block Skin Contact is a white wine made like a red wine, based on Italian varieties Vermentino, Ansonica, Falanghina, Pecorino and Moscato Giallo. The grapes are destemmed and co-fermented on wild yeasts at cool temperatures with full solids and skins. Pressed and aged in tank on fine lees for 6 months.
A kaleidoscope of lemon and lime, coconut husk, Vietnamese mint, fresh and zesty, you’ll want to be sitting on a dessert island drinking this wine. The palate shows all that skinsy phenolic grippy pulp and texture with soft herbs, melon, a little bitter twang that leads into zippy refreshing acidity that’s salivating and moreish.
